| Abstract Most hospital trusts across England’s National Health Service use acuity/dependency tools to estimate nurse staffing needs, which require trained nurses to input patient and other administrative data at multiple timepoints. It is possible that information already recorded about patients could be used instead to guide staffing requirement predictions. This research asks how best to incorporate such predictions into software products, doing so through a user-centred design process involving focus groups with clinical nurses and nursing managers. |
